Shelter building challenge task 2

Image
Week 3 term 4 Shelter building challenge task 2. Today we put up a tent at school in our troops, it was challenging and fun. The hardest thing was to work together but we eventually did it and we all were happy at the end. The thing that worked well was putting the tent up all together at the end. I learned that you have to read the instructions even if you think you can make it without instructions. By Madison.M

Question 1. Where is the best place to build a shelter? The best place to build a shelter is on high ground with a little wind so the bugs can't fly close to you and you will be easier to be found in a search party. If a cold wind is blowing make your shelter in trees where it will not get blown over, but don't make it close to a river or any water. Question 2. What does the shelter need to protect you from? The shelter needs to protect you from bugs and wind to keep you warm and from the weather. Question 3. What materials could you use to build a shelter? You can make your hut out of vines and leaves, flax and wood and rope, tree roots and bamboo. Question 4. What are some pros and cons of sleeping in a bush shelter? Make your shelter warm and so there is no wind coming in And so you are warm, tie the ropes tight so your shelter does not full apart. and make sure if you go In the wild you bring rope and material. 1. First, you need to find the right spot to set up your shelter. You need to find the warmest spot 2.   A shelter needs to protect you from the wind, rain, and thunderstorms you need to make sure that your shelter is strong enough to handle some weather if it is coming. 3.  You could use a shoelace, rope, tarp, poncho, trees, leaves and rocks. 4. Pros. Quick to build and doesn’t require many materials.     Cons. Might break in the night if not secure well and If not built high animals might try to get in. Yana Emma Janko  Olie Jordanlee Madison.M We chose to try to make a Poncho tent and A-frame tarp shelter to survive in the woods because we thought they would be easy and fast to make. Also, it would not take much time to make. We have voted for two different shelters to make and all of us voted on the same two so it was easy to make a decision. We also wanted to pick these two shelters because they would keep us warm like a tent.  ...

Week I Chapter Chat Creation Station.

Image
Week 1 I did Creation Station. This week we started a new book called GHOST and it is about a boy called Castle that got chased by his dad with a gun when he was little with his Mum. Now he has a promise that he will not get suspended from school and he will do his homework because then he will get kicked off the running team.  but he broke that promise when he punched a boy in school and got suspended. The principle said that Castle can call his Mum but then he called his coach from the running team and said that the coach was his Uncle but he is not. And now he is running on the track because his coach was angry and Castle does not want his mum to no. BY Madison.M
