Tennis Ball Tower Challenge week 8
Today for our Whetu Challenge we worked in a group to build a tower out of newspaper, 2 straws and sellotape. We needed to make our tower strong enough to hold a tennis ball and be able to stand alone (not leaning on anything or needing support).
Today I worked with Tayla/Tk and Scarlett I liked working with Tayla because she is nice not bossy and we work together well.
I liked working with Scarlett because she's not bossy and we think alike and we go with each others plans.
At first we had trouble with actually cutting the straws because we had cardboard straws then the salatape started to get a little bit messy because the seletape stuck to the news paper then the news paper ripped and it did not help that the news paper ripped, the other hard thing was to get the tower to stand up at first but soon after we put more seletape on the tower got more stable and it stood up like it was made out of wood it was amazing.
The easiest thing was cutting the seletape because when you cut the seletape it sticks to you a tiny bit but not too much, the other easy thing was drawing on our creation because it did fall over a tiny bit but it still stood up and the drawings where beautiful and fun to draw.
The best part of our tower was probably the drawings because when we draw on the tower it made the tower stand out and look beautiful, the other best part was our tower is strong so it can hold 4 tennis balls (we even tested it will rubbers and sisters and a tennis ball to see if it worked) but we only could have 2 tennis balls when we showed our amazing beautiful teachers.
Our tower looked like a news paper stick at the bottom and it had straws on it to stable the basket that was at the top( made out of news paper)and it had seletape all over it but we finished it of with heaps of drawing that where orange, red, purple, viloet, pink, green, yellow, blue and megenta.
In the end it worked out really well I loved that it was color full and it could hold 4 balls wow I think where going to win for the most balls holded on the tower.

I had so much fun drawing and sticking, and creating this master piece well many its not a master piece but its cool.

Week 1 I did Creation Station. This week we started a new book called GHOST and it is about a boy called Castle that got chased by his dad with a gun when he was little with his Mum. Now he has a promise that he will not get suspended from school and he will do his homework because then he will get kicked off the running team.  but he broke that promise when he punched a boy in school and got suspended. The principle said that Castle can call his Mum but then he called his coach from the running team and said that the coach was his Uncle but he is not. Something that has surprised me this week doing water activities and hearing that my cousin was in my class and in my homeroom. The activity I have enjoyed the most this week is the water activities because I loved getting wet bonding with my classmates. A goal I have for myself this year is to try my hardest at maths beacuase I am struggling at maths sometimes and I feel like I am getting behind. What I am most looking forward to this year is swimming because  I love swimming. Someone I have helped so far is Haven for helping Haven post her blog because Haven needed help. By Madison.

Week 1 reflection term 2

Week 1 Reflection What has been my highlight this week is seeing my friends and having a chat with them because I have not seen my friends for 7 weeks we only could face time each other on google hangouts. What was I nervous about this week I was nervous about coming back to school because I have not seen the teachers in person for 7 weeks and seeing my friends because we have not seen each other in 7 weeks two and I did not know what was going to happen at school. For dress-up day I dressed up as a bunny rabbit I had a pink paradise t-shirt on and my pants where new york city pants that had black with pink, mustard, and blue on them and I had brown bunny ears and black face paint on with a little pink skirt. The funniest thing has happened this week is was when I came back to school Mister Frazer had a white beard and his hair grew so long.
